Barcelona, October 15, 2024 – Independent development studio NETK2GAMES has announced the release of “Rally Arcade Classics”, a game that seeks to recreate the experience of classic rallies in an arcade format.
Details of the game
Rally Arcade Classics offers players a wide selection of content:
- 44 vehicles representing the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s including iconic rally models.
- 48 circuits designed to reflect the variety and challenge of classic rally competitions. (With totally dynamic weather and time of day).
- Six game modes that suit different styles and preferences:
1. License (60 tests)
2. Tour (360 tests)
3. Arcade (16 championships)
4. Rally (72 championships)
5. Weekly Events
6. Chrono
The game is compatible with keyboard and controller (Xbox, Playstation,…), as well as steering wheels (currently supported by the Thrustmaster T300 and Logitech G29 ), but they are working on a better compatibility. This allows players to choose their preferred control method.
Development and Release
The development of Rally Arcade Classics has taken two years, during which time the NETK2GAMES team has worked to combine classic elements of the genre with modern gameplay mechanics.
Salvador Casamiquela, one of the founders of NETK2GAMES, commented on the development: “Our goal was to create a game that captured the essence of classic rallies, offering an accessible experience for both veteran and new fans”.
Availability and future plans
Rally Arcade Classics was released on Steam on 23 September 2024, priced at €19.50. The developers have confirmed that they are working on a PlayStation and XBOX version, whose release date will be announced soon.
Presentation in IndieDevDay 2024
The game was recently presented at IndieDevDay 2024 in Barcelona. During the event, attendees were able to test the game and see a Subaru Impreza WRX STI, an iconic model of the rallies. Rally driver and youtuber Guillem Serna was present to share his impressions of the game.
During the 3 days of the event (27,28 and 29 September) the game was very well received, which made that the 3 demo stands were occupied at all times. The possibility of playing with a controller and a steering wheel was offered.
